Hot Sauce- Not just for Tacos anymore, it’s also good for Hair!

This spicy little number will add moisture to your hair- Guaranteed!

No I’m not suggesting that you douse your hair with Tabasco Sauce…That might cause a burning sensation and leave you smelling a bit like a hot wing for days to come. I am however suggesting that you try Hot Sauce by FHI Heat. Hot Sauce is an amazing product that infuses moisture into your hair as you style with heat tools.

Hot Sauce by FHI uses an exclusive jojoba formula which is heat activated and leaves your hair shiny, soft and silky. You can actually see the jojoba crystals; they look like little beads when you look closely at the product in your hands.

Applying is really easy ….you just use a small amount on damp hair concentrating on the middle and ends, leave on for about a minute then blow-dry and style! An added bonus is how fresh and clean the product smells.

With as much as I have to style my hair for HairTalk, protecting my hair from heat tools is super important to me. I’ve been using Hot Sauce and I can definitely see a difference in how moisturized my hair looks and feels. My Favorite part about Hot Sauce is that unlike other heat protective products this does not leave my hair feeling greasy or heavy, I still have a ton of volume which is always key!! I’ve learned that this is because it is not silicone based so there is no surface residue…pretty nifty.

So the bottom line is: Use heat tools? Use Hot Sauce!

My only honest complaint is that I wish it came in a larger bottle!

The New 20" Soft Wave by Hairdo:: My Extensions pick for Spring

Put a little “spring” in your Hair:

I am so giddy about the new 20” Soft Wave; it’s the curl pattern and length I’ve been waiting for. This is a look that perfect for spring! So fresh, so new, so you! When I wear human hair extensions I usually curl them with a 1 ½ or 2 “curling iron to give it that soft curled or waved look. The problem with curling human hair extensions and then wearing them all day is that eventually your curl falls and you have to touch them up. The 20” soft wave gives me the same result I would get if I decided to curl my hair with a curling iron but the icing on top of the cake is that my curls stay put no matter what!

I have to tell you, I’m a huge fan of Jessica Simpson’s line of hair extensions Hairdo! I love how much styling time they save me, with the one piece extension systems I only have to style the very top crown area of my hair in the morning and then just throw on whatever “ hair do “ I want to have for the day. The pressure sensitive clips are so easy to master even a beginner can do it, and the best part is that unlike other extension methods, the tiny clips cause no damage to my hair.

Why these extensions rock:

Because the 20” soft wave is made with synthetic fiber the style is basically weather proof. Synthetic fiber doesn’t respond to the environment the way our own natural hair would so even in extremely humid weather, even light drizzle your style stays picture perfect no touchups required!

20” soft wave is part of Hairdo’s new styleable collection , the revolutionary heat friendly synthetic fiber means you can style these extensions just as you would your own hair with heat tools up to 350F ( although I’m not sure why anyone would want to change these curls, they’re beautiful)

So would I recommend this extension system?

It seems silly to even ask. Since my extensions have arrived I have not taken them off, I’m even thinking about ordering a few more to rotate during washing. Not all the videos I create I decide to feature on YouTube, but this one definitelty went up! Check out the Video. This length and texture is going to work with every hair type and length. I’m definitely giving this new clip in extension by Hairdo an A+!!

82nd Annual Academy Awards- Lets talk Hair!

For a hairstylist there is nothing bigger than the Academy Awards. The Oscars are the perfect opportunity to show your absolute best work. With all the world looking on, and Hollywood’s A list as the clientele, you definitely want to bring your best game!! Theres nothing that compliments a perfect gown like a perfect head of hair…Here are my thoughts on the 82nd Annual Academy Awards…Lets talk hair!

Red Carpet Trend Alert! :

Whether the hair was down, half up, gathered to the side or completely up, the one common trend was that it was swept away from the face.
Keeping hair back and away from the face minus heavy fringe or multiple pieces hanging around your face frame really opens up a look. It’s incredibly fresh and clean and it’s the perfect complement to welcoming in spring!

One of my favorite looks this year was the soft waved look with a side part: Celebrities who pulled this off perfectly were:

Best Use of Extensions::

I’m loving Sandra Bullock’s perfectly polished Tresses. Her Use of Extensions to compliment and not overwhelm her style makes this my pick for Best use of Extensions. The Best Actress winner sure knows how to do Glam without being over the top. Great Choice Sandy!! Another award winner in my book is EasiXtend Elite extensions, available in both 16” and 20” they are the perfect clip in extension to create this look. The 100% remi human hair is the quality you want and need to create such a polished finish.

Kudos to the Gentlemen! I love when a man has a style of his own. Zac Efrons fun and flirty texture make this stud even more of a hottie in my book!
Guys to achieve this look it starts with a quality haircut and don’t be afraid of experimenting with a flatiron. You want to use a flatiron that is small enough to pick up those small pieces of hair. Try the hottie by Belson pro. And of course the perfect finishing product is key! Try using a Matte finish hair paste with a strong hold, especially if your stepping out on the town, you don’t want your style to fall flat!

Best Up-Do::

I can only imagine how long this style took to create or how much hair Sarah Jessica Parkers stylist had to add...one things for certain, more than her dress, it certainly stole the show!

I'll forgive the flyaway's in this shot and concentrate on the beautiful construction of this do. Its simple, elegent, dramatic and feminine all at the same time, something virtually impossible to pull off. Remember that the perfect updo, begins with the perfect blow-out!

WACKIEST LOOK OF THE OSCARS!
Ben Stiller sure went for the wow factor this year. Channeling his inner avatar Ben created a look that was hilarious and refreshing. Taking risk may be easier for a comedian but its something I encourage everyone to do. Sure maybe you want to stick to something that works for your species…
I love the decorated braids and with full makeup this look is certainly out of this world!!

Soft waves have been around for ages and it looks like they’re here to stay! They are soft, feminine, and oh so effortless looking. Camila, Kate and Cameron pulled off this classic look beautifully. Of course as Host of Shear Genius I would expect to see Camila so perfectly pulled together but I was pleasantly surprised to see Kate and Cameron trying out this wonderful look as well. My absolute favorite tool for creating soft waves is Enzo Milano, no other tool even comes close to making beautiful long lasting waves that are one of a kind, and of course Red Carpet worthy!!
